Abstract

Introduction: With increasing demand on esthetics in children and their parents, the treatment of decayed primary anterior teeth is one of the biggest challenges in pediatric dentistry. Esthetic preformed zirconia crowns are the newest choice in treatment of the anterior as well as the posterior teeth.

Case presentation: This paper reports a 3 years old boy with grossly decayed maxillary incisors which was planned to treat under general anesthesia. In this case, we used preformed zirconia crowns (NuSmile, Houston, TX, USA) to restore function and ideal esthetics in anterior teeth. The patient was followed for two years for function, gingival health and crown adaptation which were in good condition. The patient and their parents were completely satisfied with the crown appearance.

Conclusion: The preformed zirconia crown is durable and well-favored choice to restore primary anterior teeth.
