Background: The aim of this study was to determine the level awareness of students of Farhangian University regarding Oral Health of their Children at age of 6-12 Years old.
Materials and methods: In this research, descriptive -survey method was used. The statistical population of this research was students of primary education in Farhangian University of Fars Province (Shahid Motahari Branch), a sample of 87 of them were selected by relative stratified sampling. Three questionnaires were used for collecting data.The maximum score that an individual can take from the awareness, attitude and performance questionnaires on oral health is 48, 50, and 28, respectively. The validity and reliability of questionnaires were determined by the researcher. t-test and chi square test were used to analyze the data.
Results: The findings of the study showed that the mean of student's attitude toward oral health was 42.4 with a standard deviation of 5.53, which indicates a good attitude of students towards oral health. The mean of student's awareness about oral health of children aged 6 to 12 years was 23.17 with a standard deviation of 11.25, which is slightly lower than the average. The mean of student's performance on oral health was 15.7 with a standard deviation of 4.34, Which indicates that student's performance is moderate.
Conclusion: According to the findings of the research, promotion of awareness and practice of students regarding Oral Health during the period of the university and afterwards should be considered.
